The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe requires that every bank should “Know Your Customer” and stipulates the guidelines for provision of proof of Identity. Please read the following requirements carefully
If you are resident in the Diaspora you are required to send to your chosen Bank, notarized copies of your Passport ID, Zimbabwean National ID, an original Bank Reference Letter showing your current foreign address, and an Original Pay Slip if you are employed. It is advisable to use a traceable postal service like DHL or Fedex.
If you are resident in Zimbabwe your will need to present yourself in person with the originals of your National ID or Passport, Original Utility Bill showing Proof of your Address and your original Pays Slip if your are employed.
